Edgar Ernest Dey (April 30, 1883 – February 13, 1912) was an Ottawa-born ice hockey player and Canadian canoeing champion from a prominent athletic family — his father, Frank Edgar Dey, co-owned Dey's Arena and a boat-building business in Ottawa. Dey began his hockey career with the Ottawa Aberdeens in 1900 and reached senior play with the Ottawa Capitals of the Federal Amateur Hockey League in 1904. He turned professional in 1906 in the Manitoba league, then moved to Pittsburgh in 1907, playing for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Bankers of the Western Pennsylvania Hockey League. He died in 1912 from an injury sustained while playing hockey.
