Ferris Roy Fain (1921–2001) was an American first baseman who played in Major League Baseball from 1947 to 1955. A five-time All-Star, he won back-to-back American League batting championships and compiled a career on-base percentage of .424, ranking 13th highest in MLB history. Fain spent the bulk of his career with the Philadelphia Athletics before stints with the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, and Cleveland Indians. Born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Oakland, California, he was regarded as one of the Athletics' last standout players before the franchise relocated to Kansas City.
