Frank Buncom

Frank James Buncom Jr. (1939–1969) was a linebacker in the American Football League. After attending East Los Angeles College and playing at the University of Southern California, where he lettered in 1960 and 1961, he joined the San Diego Chargers in 1962. He spent seven seasons in the AFL, six with San Diego (1962–1967) and one with the Cincinnati Bengals (1968), whom he joined via the AFL expansion allocation draft. A three-time AFL All-Star (1964, 1965, 1967), Buncom was a starting outside linebacker for the Bengals' inaugural season. He is a member of the Chargers Hall of Fame.
