Frank Clarke

Franklin Clarke (February 7, 1934 – July 25, 2018) was a wide receiver in the National Football League who played for the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys. Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, Clarke attended Beloit Memorial High School, where he earned AP second-team All-State honors as an end in 1951 and excelled in track. After two years at Trinidad State Junior College, he transferred to the University of Colorado, where he became the first African-American varsity football player on the Buffaloes roster when he joined the program in September 1954.
