Dossier

Frank Fredrickson (1895–1979) was an Icelandic-Canadian center whose career spanned the early amateur and professional eras of North American hockey. Born in Winnipeg to Icelandic immigrants, Fredrickson centered the Winnipeg Falcons when they won the Olympic gold medal at the 1920 Games, then joined the Victoria Cougars in time for their 1925 Stanley Cup championship — making him and teammate Haldor Halderson the first players to hold both titles. His playing career, interrupted by First World War service, ended with a knee injury in 1931. He was also a pioneer aviator, flying for Iceland's first airline, Flugfélag Íslands, in 1920.
