Frank W. 'Stubby' Overmire (May 16, 1919 – March 3, 1977) was an American pitcher who played ten seasons in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers (1943–1949), St. Louis Browns (1950–1952), and New York Yankees (1951). He debuted with the Tigers in April 1943, winning 7 games with 8 complete games and 3 shutouts as a rookie. His best season came in 1947, when he went 11–5 with a 3.77 earned run average for Detroit. Overmire was the Tigers' starting pitcher in Game 3 of the 1945 World Series against the Chicago Cubs, taking a 3–0 loss despite allowing 2 runs over 6 innings. He earned World Series championships with the 1945 Tigers and the 1951 Yankees. After his playing career, Overmire managed in the Tigers' minor league system through the 1950s at Little Rock, Terre Haute, Montgomery, Valdosta, and Decatur, and served as a major league coach for Detroit from 1963 to 1966. His career covered the wartime and postwar years of the American League.
