Frank Pitts

Dossier

Frank H. Pitts (November 12, 1943 – January 16, 2026) was a wide receiver who played ten seasons in professional football. He attended Southern University and was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 1965 AFL Draft. After struggling with dropped passes in his first three seasons, Pitts developed into a starter when Otis Taylor was injured in 1968, becoming a regular part of the Chiefs' offense through end-around reverse runs. He won a championship with Kansas City at Super Bowl IV before finishing his career with the Cleveland Browns (1971–1973) and Oakland Raiders (1974).
