Frank Daryl Tanana (born July 3, 1953) was a left-handed pitcher who spent 21 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1973 to 1993. A first-round draft pick by the California Angels in 1971, he debuted in 1973 and won 14 games as a rookie. Alongside Nolan Ryan, he formed one of the most formidable starting rotations in the American League. Tanana led the AL in strikeouts in 1975, earned three consecutive All-Star selections, won 19 games in 1976, and posted a league-best 2.54 ERA in 1977. He twice won playoff-clinching games, for the Angels in 1979 and the Tigers in 1987, finishing his career with 2,773 strikeouts.
