Frank Torre was an American professional baseball player who spent his career as a left-handed first baseman in the National League. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended James Madison High School before signing with the Boston Braves organization in 1950. Torre played for the Milwaukee Braves from 1956 to 1960 and the Philadelphia Phillies from 1962 to 1963. His best seasons came in 1957 and 1958; in 1957 he batted .272 with 5 home runs and 40 RBI and was part of the Milwaukee Braves team that defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series. He is the older brother of Hall of Famer Joe Torre.
