Fred Ahern

Fred Ahern (born February 12, 1952) is an American former professional ice hockey player who appeared in 146 National Hockey League games between 1974 and 1978. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he played for the California Golden Seals, Cleveland Barons, and Colorado Rockies, and represented the United States at the 1976 Canada Cup. When the Golden Seals relocated to become the Cleveland Barons for the 1976-77 season, Ahern scored the first NHL goal in Barons history on October 6, 1976. He was traded to the Colorado Rockies in January 1978.
