Fred Beck

Frederick Thomas Beck (November 17, 1886 - March 12, 1962). He was a native of Havana, Illinois, listed in playing days at 6'1", 180 lbs. He batted left-handed and threw left-handed. His major-league career ran from 1909 through 1915, primarily with the Boston Braves of the National League. His broader professional ledger — including minor-league seasons — extends from 1905 through 1926. On the cardboard side, his vintage presence is anchored to the T206 White Border issue, which is where collectors of the period most commonly encounter him. He died on March 12, 1962 in Havana, Illinois. He is interred at Laurel Hills Cemetery in Havana, Illinois.
