Gary Lynn Nolan (born May 27, 1948, in Herlong, California) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1967 through 1977. Drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the 1966 draft (13th pick overall), he made his major league debut at age 18. On June 7, 1967, he struck out Willie Mays four times in a single game, finishing with fifteen strikeouts. Nolan spent the bulk of his career with the Reds, a franchise that won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976. He closed his career with the California Angels and was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 1983.
