Dossier

George Franklin Blaeholder (January 26, 1904 – December 29, 1947) was a right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball. He debuted with the St. Louis Browns in 1925 and became a full-time starter in 1928, posting a 10–15 record in 214 innings. His strongest season came in 1929, when he went 14–15 with a 4.18 ERA and four shutouts. He won 10 or more games in seven seasons with the Browns, though the club was a perennial losing team and he recorded just one non-losing season there. Traded to the Philadelphia Athletics in 1935, he finished his major league career with the Cleveland Indians in 1936, going 8–4 — his only winning season.
