Dossier

George Stuart Brunet (June 8, 1935 – October 25, 1991) was a right-handed pitcher from Houghton, Michigan who attended Calumet High School. Originally signed by Detroit Tigers scout Schoolboy Rowe in 1952, Brunet spent three seasons in the Sooner State League before latching on with the Kansas City Athletics. He made his major league debut on September 14, 1956, against the Washington Senators, and in his second appearance induced Ted Williams to bounce into a double play with the bases loaded. Over his U.S. career Brunet pitched for nine different major league clubs, and he later earned induction into the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame.
