George Earnshaw (February 15, 1900 – December 1, 1976) was a right-handed pitcher who spent parts of nine seasons in Major League Baseball (1928–36) with the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Brooklyn Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals. Standing 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, the New York City native earned the nickname "Moose" for his imposing frame and hard-throwing style. He led the American League in wins in 1929 and appeared in three World Series with the Athletics, winning in 1929 and 1930. He posted a 1.58 ERA across three Series, striking out 56 batters in 62 innings. Career record: 127–93, 4.38 ERA, 1,002 strikeouts.
