George Henry Sauer Jr. (November 10, 1943 – May 7, 2013) was a wide receiver who played six seasons in the American Football League with the New York Jets. He played college football at Texas, where he was part of the undefeated 1963 team and the 1964 squad that defeated Alabama in the Orange Bowl. Sauer led the AFL in receptions in 1967. In Super Bowl III, he caught eight passes for 133 yards, leading all receivers as the Jets upset the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. He retired following the 1970 season. His father, George Sauer Sr., played for the Green Bay Packers from 1935 to 1937.
