Gordie Drillon

Dossier
Gordon Arthur Drillon (October 23, 1913 – September 23, 1986) was a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger born in Moncton, New Brunswick. He played seven NHL seasons, six with the Toronto Maple Leafs and one with the Montreal Canadiens. A physically strong presence in front of the net, Drillon was known for his accurate shot and his ability to redirect passes and collect rebounds — a style later adopted by players such as Phil Esposito and Dino Ciccarelli. He won the NHL scoring title in the 1937–38 season, the last Maple Leaf to do so, and captured the Stanley Cup in 1942. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975.
