Daniel James "Gus" Gerard (born July 27, 1953) played college basketball at the University of Virginia before being drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the third round of the 1975 NBA Draft. He spent his early professional years in the ABA with the Carolina Cougars, Spirits of St. Louis, and Denver Nuggets, earning ABA All-Rookie First Team honors in 1974–75 and an ABA All-Star selection in 1976. His best NBA season came in 1976–77, when he averaged 10 points per game for the Denver Nuggets. He also played for the Buffalo Braves, Detroit Pistons, Kansas City Kings, and San Antonio Spurs before retiring after the 1980–81 season.
