H. M. Hyland
Dossier
H. M. Hyland played ice hockey at Union College in Schenectady, New York. Known by the name Drake, he served as team captain for the 1927–28 Skating Dutchmen and was the most experienced forward on the roster. Entering the season with two new starting wingers alongside him, Hyland led the offense through a shortened seven-game schedule that was hampered by poor ice conditions and cancelled home games. In the delayed season opener against Rensselaer, he completed a hat-trick in the third period, though Union could not hold the lead and the game finished tied.
