Hal Chase (February 13, 1883 – May 18, 1947), known as "Prince Hal", was born Harold Homer and hailed from Los Gatos, California. At 6-foot and 175 pounds, he batted right-handed and threw left. He played in the major leagues from 1905 through 1919, a 14-season run, spending most of his career with the New York Yankees of the American League. He had broken in professionally in 1904 before reaching the majors.
