Henry Levai Severeid (June 1, 1891 – December 17, 1968) was a catcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1911 to 1926. Born in Story City, Iowa to Norwegian immigrants, he spent the bulk of his career with the St. Louis Browns, where he built a reputation as one of the better defensive catchers of his era and a skilled handler of pitching staffs. He also played for the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Senators, and New York Yankees. In 1924 he finished sixth in American League MVP voting, batting .308 across 137 games. He contributed to pennant-winning clubs in Washington (1925) and New York (1926).
