Harold McLinton (July 1, 1947 – October 31, 1980) was a linebacker who played college football at Southern University before being selected by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft. He spent his entire ten-year professional career in Washington, appearing in 127 games and recording four interceptions and one touchdown. McLinton was a contributor on the 1972 NFC championship team. He died on October 31, 1980, at age 33, after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 295 in Washington while stopped to help a stranger change a flat tire.
