Henry Majeski (December 13, 1916 - August 9, 1991), commonly known as Hank Majeski, was an American professional baseball third baseman whose major league career spanned from 1939 to 1955. He made his debut with the Boston Bees on May 17, 1939, where manager Casey Stengel converted him into a third baseman. Over a 13-year major league career he played for several American League and National League clubs, including the Boston Bees, Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, and others. Regarded as one of the better defensive third basemen of his time, he committed only five errors in 1947 and set an American League record with a .988 fielding percentage that season. His best offensive year came in 1948, when he batted .310 with 12 home runs and 120 runs batted in. While with the Cleveland Indians, he hit a pinch-hit three-run home run in Game 4 of the 1954 World Series. Across 1,069 games he recorded 956 hits in 3,421 at-bats for a .279 career batting average, with 57 home runs and 501 runs batted in. He played through the 1940s and into the mid-1950s.
