Dossier

Herbert Jude Score (1933–2008) was a right-handed pitcher who spent his Major League Baseball career with the Cleveland Indians (1955–1959) and the Chicago White Sox (1960–1962). Score won the American League Rookie of the Year award in 1955 and earned AL All-Star selections in both 1955 and 1956. A serious on-field injury in 1957 curtailed what had been a promising career, and he retired as a player in 1962. He went on to a long second career as a television and radio broadcaster for the Cleveland Indians from 1964 through 1997, and was inducted into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame in 2006.
