Hewritt Frederick Dixon Jr. (January 8, 1940 – November 24, 1992) was a halfback from Alachua, Florida who played seven seasons in the AFL and NFL with the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders. Dixon attended Florida A&M University, where future Hall of Fame receiver Bob Hayes was among his teammates and Jake Gaither — later a College Football Hall of Fame coach — coached the squad. At Mebane High School, Dixon was originally a tackle before being converted to fullback after coaches recognized his running ability, earning all-conference honors each of his four years.
