Horace Clarke

Horace Meredith Clarke (June 2, 1939 – August 5, 2020) was a second baseman from Frederiksted, Saint Croix, United States Virgin Islands. A switch hitter who threw right-handed, Clarke signed with the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1958 and worked through seven minor league affiliates before his major league debut in 1965. He spent a decade in MLB, playing nine seasons with the Yankees before being traded to the San Diego Padres in 1974, where he played his final game on September 15 of that year.
