Jack Bliss

John Joseph Albert Bliss (January 9, 1882 – October 23, 1968). A native of Vancouver, Washington, he died in Temple City, California. Standing 5-foot-9 and listed at 185 pounds, batted right-handed and threw right. He worked the major leagues from 1908 through 1912, spending the bulk of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals of the National League. His professional career stretched from 1903 to 1915, bracketing his big-league time with seasons in the minors at both ends. Among collectors of the era, his card appearance is anchored by the T206 White Border issue. He was cremated, with remains at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
