Jack Hughes (born May 14, 2001, in Orlando, Florida) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays center for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League, where he also serves as alternate captain. A product of the U.S. National Team Development Program, Hughes was selected first overall by New Jersey in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Internationally, he has represented the United States men's national team, most notably at the 2026 Winter Olympics, where he scored the overtime game-winning goal against Canada in the gold medal match to deliver the U.S. the championship.
