Jack Powell

Jack Powell (July 9, 1874 – October 17, 1944) was born John Joseph and hailed from Bloomington, Illinois. At 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, he batted right-handed and threw right. He played in the major leagues from 1897 through 1912, a 15-season run, spending most of his career with the St. Louis Browns of the American League. His broader professional career stretched from 1896 to 1914, bracketing his major-league years on both ends. He appears on T204 Ramly and T206 White Border. He died October 17, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois and is interred at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
