Jake Weimer

Jacob Weimer, known as "Tornado Jake" (November 29, 1873 - June 19, 1928). He was a native of Ottumwa, Iowa, listed in playing days at 5'11", 175 lbs. He batted right-handed and threw left-handed. His major-league career ran from 1903 through 1909, primarily with the Cincinnati Reds of the National League. His broader professional ledger — including minor-league seasons — extends from 1895 through 1909. On the cardboard side, his vintage presence is anchored to the T206 White Border issue, which is where collectors of the period most commonly encounter him. He died on June 19, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. He is interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.
