Cameron Jerrell Newton (born May 11, 1989) was a professional football quarterback who played 11 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Carolina Panthers. He played college football at Auburn after a stint with the Florida Gators, winning the Heisman Trophy and the 2011 BCS National Championship as a junior before being selected first overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. As a rookie he set records for passing and rushing yards by a quarterback and won Offensive Rookie of the Year. He led Carolina to four playoff appearances and three division titles from 2013 to 2017, earning NFL MVP honors in 2015.
