Jerry Colangelo (born November 20, 1939) is an American sports executive who became the youngest general manager in professional sports when the Phoenix Suns hired him to that role in 1968. His tenure running an NBA franchise ranks second in length, behind only Red Auerbach of the Boston Celtics. Over his career he owned or operated the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Rattlers, and Arizona Sandsharks, and was instrumental in relocating the Winnipeg Jets to Phoenix as the Phoenix Coyotes. He also served as chairman of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers from December 2015 to April 2016.
