Jess Phillips

Jess Willard Phillips Jr. (born February 28, 1947) played running back for ten seasons across the AFL and NFL. A Beaumont, Texas native, Phillips attended Charlton-Pollard High School and played college football at Michigan State University, where he was part of the famous 10–10 tie against undefeated Notre Dame in 1966. The expansion Cincinnati Bengals, under coach Paul Brown, drafted him in 1968. He went on to play for the Bengals, New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders, and New England Patriots over a career spanning both leagues.
