James William Anderson (December 1, 1930 – March 10, 2013) was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach born in Pembroke, Ontario. A forward, he spent the bulk of his 16-year minor-league career with the Springfield Indians of the AHL, where he remains the franchise's all-time leader in games played, goals, and points. He won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as AHL rookie of the year in 1954–55 and scored 43 goals in 1960–61, earning Second Team All-Star honors and the Willie Marshall Award in 1963–64. Anderson appeared in 7 NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings and later became the first head coach of the Washington Capitals.
