Jim Kiick
Dossier
James Forrest Kiick (August 9, 1946 – June 20, 2020) was a running back who played in the AFL from 1968 to 1969 and in the NFL from 1970 through 1977, with stints on the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, and Washington Redskins. A product of Boonton High School in New Jersey, he was a central piece of the ball-control ground game the Miami Dolphins ran under head coach Don Shula in the early 1970s, including the undefeated 1972 season. He appeared in three Super Bowls and finished as the Dolphins' fourth all-time leading rusher. Paired with fullback Larry Csonka — the duo nicknamed "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" — he co-authored *Always on the Run* in 1973 before both signed with the World Football League in 1975.
