James Francis Warner (born March 26, 1954, in Saint Paul, Minnesota) is an American retired professional ice hockey forward. He played college hockey at Colorado College before being selected by the New York Rangers in the 1974 NHL amateur draft, though he instead signed as a free agent with the New England Whalers of the World Hockey Association in 1978. Warner appeared in 41 WHA regular season games in 1978–79 and remained with the franchise when it entered the NHL in 1979, playing 32 regular season games with the Hartford Whalers in 1979–80. He also represented the United States at the World Championships in 1975, 1976, and 1978.
