James Joseph Dykes (November 10, 1896 – June 15, 1976) was a professional baseball player, coach, and manager who spent the bulk of his career as a third and second baseman in the American League from 1918 through 1939. He was a key member of the Philadelphia Athletics dynasty that won three consecutive AL pennants from 1929 to 1931 and back-to-back World Series titles in 1929 and 1930, batting alongside future Hall of Famers Al Simmons, Jimmie Foxx, and Mickey Cochrane. Dykes batted over .300 five times and holds the Athletics franchise record for career doubles with 365. He played his final six seasons with the Chicago White Sox.
