Joseph Gordon Dobson (January 20, 1917 – June 23, 1994) was a right-handed pitcher from Durant, Oklahoma who spent the bulk of his Major League Baseball career with the Boston Red Sox. He broke into the majors with the Cleveland Indians in 1939–40 before arriving in Boston via a six-player trade that included Jim Bagby, Jr. Dobson pitched for the Red Sox from 1941 through 1950, with his service interrupted by two years in the military during World War II, and later spent three seasons with the Chicago White Sox before returning to Boston in 1954. After his playing career he served as pitching coach and minor league general manager for the Red Sox organization.
