Joe Kuhel (June 25, 1906 – February 26, 1984) was a left-handed first baseman who played 18 seasons in the American League from 1930 to 1947. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he spent 11 seasons with the Washington Senators and seven with the Chicago White Sox. Kuhel finished with a .277 batting average, 131 home runs, and 1,049 RBI across 2,104 games, posting a career .992 fielding percentage. He was regarded as the top defensive first baseman in the American League during the 1930s. After his playing career ended, he managed the Senators in 1948 and 1949.
