Joseph Henry "Joe" Lake (January 6, 1881 – June 30, 1950) was born in Brooklyn, New York. His professional career ran from 1908 through 1913, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the New York Yankees of the AL. After his major-league days ended in 1913, he continued in professional ball through 1914. He was listed at 6'0" and 185 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. He died on June 30, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York and was interred at St. John Cemetery in Middle Village, New York.
