Joe Walton (December 15, 1935 – August 15, 2021) was an American football tight end and coach from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He played at the University of Pittsburgh before spending eight seasons in the NFL with the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. Walton later served as an assistant coach with the Giants, Redskins, Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was head coach of the New York Jets for seven seasons, guiding the team to the playoffs twice. He concluded his career as head coach and founder of the football program at Robert Morris University, a role he held for 20 years.
