John William Buzhardt (1936–2008) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1958 through 1968 for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Houston Astros. Over 326 appearances — 200 as a starter — he compiled a 71–96 record with a 3.66 ERA, 44 complete games, and 15 shutouts across 1,490⅔ innings. His best season came with the 1965 White Sox, when he went 13–8. On June 21, 1959, pitching for the Cubs, he held the Phillies to a single hit in a 4–0 victory, facing just 28 batters.
