John Lazor

John Paul Lazor (September 9, 1912 - December 9, 2002), known as Johnny Lazor, was an American outfielder who played in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox from 1943 through 1946. Born in King County, Washington, he batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He began his major league career at age 30 and played four seasons, primarily as a reserve outfielder, during the World War II years. Over his career he recorded 157 hits, six home runs, and a .263 batting average. A baseball field in Hobart, Washington, where his family farmed, is named for him.
