John Montefusco

John Montefusco, nicknamed "The Count," was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1974 to 1986. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, he spent the core of his career with the San Francisco Giants, earning the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 1975. He was selected as a National League All-Star in 1976, the year he posted a career-high 16 wins. He also pitched a no-hitter as a Giant. Over 13 seasons — which also included stints with the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, and New York Yankees — he finished 90–83 with a 3.54 ERA and 1,081 strikeouts.
