Dossier
John Paluck (May 23, 1935 – April 22, 2003) was a defensive lineman who played nine seasons for the Washington Redskins in the NFL. A Pittsburgh Panthers alum, he was selected in the second round of the 1956 NFL Draft but missed the 1957 and 1958 seasons due to military service. After rejoining Washington in 1959, he became one of the league's top defensive performers, earning a Pro Bowl selection. His physical style of play earned him the nickname "Gentle John." As a rookie, he scored his only career touchdown on a 76-yard fumble return against the New York Giants at Yankee Stadium.
