John August Antonelli (April 12, 1930 – February 28, 2020) was a left-handed starting pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1948 to 1961 for the Boston/Milwaukee Braves, New York/San Francisco Giants, and Cleveland Indians. Born in Rochester, New York, he signed with the Braves in 1948 for $52,000, then the largest bonus in baseball history. After two years of military service during the Korean War, he was traded to the Giants before the 1954 season and contributed to their World Series championship that year. He was a six-time National League All-Star and a two-time 20-game winner.
