John Edward Briggs (born March 10, 1944, in Paterson, New Jersey) was a left-handed outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1964 to 1975. After playing high school ball at Eastside High School and attending Seton Hall University, he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1963. Briggs spent the bulk of his career in Philadelphia (1964–1971) before finishing with the Milwaukee Brewers (1971–1975) and Minnesota Twins (1975). He secured a platoon spot with the Phillies in 1965 and never returned to the minor leagues, appearing in over 100 games in multiple seasons during his big-league tenure.
