Ken Baird

Kenneth Stewart Baird (February 1, 1951 – December 18, 2016) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 10 games in the National Hockey League and 332 games in the World Hockey Association between 1971 and 1978. The California Golden Seals selected him 15th overall in the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft, and he played his 10 NHL games for that club, recording two assists. He then spent six seasons in the WHA with the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Calgary Cowboys, winning the Avco World Trophy with the Jets in 1978. Baird later played four seasons with Duisburger SC in West Germany before retiring in 1982.
