Patrik Sundström is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player who spent ten seasons in the NHL. Drafted 175th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, he developed with IF Björklöven in Umeå before joining Vancouver in 1982. After five seasons with the Canucks, he was traded to the New Jersey Devils in September 1987 in a deal that sent Kirk McLean and Greg Adams to Vancouver. On April 22, 1988, Sundström recorded eight points — three goals and five assists — in New Jersey's 10–4 win over Washington in Game 3 of the Patrick Division Final, setting a Stanley Cup playoffs single-game points record.
