Lou Piniella, born August 28, 1943, was an outfielder who spent 18 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, and New York Yankees. He was named AL Rookie of the Year in 1969 and won two World Series championships with the Yankees in 1977 and 1978. Following his playing career, Piniella managed the Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Chicago Cubs, winning the 1990 World Series with Cincinnati. He was named Manager of the Year three times (1995, 2001, 2008) and finished his managerial career ranked 14th all time in wins.
